- Partners you choose to contact. If you request contractor quotes, your request is handled by our partner (such as Modernize) under its own privacy policy.
- Gravatar. If you comment, a hashed version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check for a profile picture.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If the Site is sold or transferred, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Third-party links and embedded content
The Site links to and embeds content from other websites, including YouTube videos and partner offers. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly. We aren’t responsible for their content or policies.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Comments and their metadata are kept until the comment is removed. Messages and submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and manage our relationship, and analytics data is kept according to our analytics settings.

We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and security software, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
