Plan your bathroom project with free cost calculators built for homeowners. Each one gives you a realistic price range for 2027, adjusted for your state, with a breakdown of where the money goes. Pick the calculator that matches your project to get started.

Which calculator should you use?

How our calculators work

Every calculator on the site uses the same approach. We break a project into its parts, price each part as an installed national average cost, and adjust labor with a state cost index. Instead of a single number, you get a low-to-high range and a line-by-line breakdown, so you can see what drives the total and where you might save.

The numbers in our articles come from the same cost models, so an estimate you see in a guide matches what the calculator shows. We review all pricing once a year. Learn more about our methods on the About page.

Tips for getting the most out of an estimate

  • Measure first. Room size, shower size, and countertop square footage change the result more than most other inputs.
  • Try a few versions. Compare finish levels or materials side by side to see where your budget goes furthest.
  • Add a cushion. Set aside 10% to 15% for surprises like water damage, rot, or outdated plumbing found once walls are open.
  • Use the range when comparing quotes. A bid far below the range may leave out work, while a bid far above it is worth questioning.
  • Get two or three written quotes that list materials, labor, permits, and cleanup so you can compare them fairly.

Frequently asked questions

Are these calculators free?

Yes. Every calculator on Bath Calculator is free to use, with no sign-up and no email required.

How accurate are the estimates?

Each calculator uses national average installed costs adjusted with a labor index for your state, and shows a low-to-high range rather than a single number. That makes them reliable for budgeting, but your final price depends on your home, your contractor, and conditions behind the walls, so always get written quotes.

Which calculator should I use for a full bathroom remodel?

Start with the bathroom remodel cost calculator. It covers the whole room, including the shower or tub, flooring, wall tile, vanity, toilet, and extras. Use the walk-in shower, walk-in tub, shower door, or countertop calculators to explore one part of the project in more detail.

How often are the prices updated?

We review the pricing behind every calculator once a year. The current estimates use late-2026 pricing for projects planned in 2027.

Estimates are for planning only and are not quotes. See our disclaimer and affiliate disclosure.
